A note on the ROAD Act diagrams below. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act became law on 11 July 2026, and most of what has been written about it is aimed at investors or their lawyers. These were drawn for ordinary buyers, from the enacted text. If you are covering the law and want a figure checked, or a version cropped or recoloured for your layout, ask and I will send it.

Which buildings the ROAD Act investor ban covers

The underlying datasets

Two original datasets sit behind most of the numbers above. Both are free, both are machine-readable, and both carry a permanent DOI so they can be cited in academic work.

How to cite

VanToVault, chart title, vantovault.com, with a link to the page the chart appears on. For the datasets, cite the DOI. If a figure is dated, please keep the date with it, because each one is re-checked and a copied number goes stale the moment its source updates.

Want something that is not here

I can run a custom cut of either dataset for one market, one price band, or a different mortgage rate, and send it as a chart or as raw numbers. There is no charge and no catch. Reach me through the contact page. Calculators can be embedded too, as live widgets rather than images, on the free calculator widgets page.
